MOGOLLON BROWN & RED WARES
TYPE: Reserve Plain
AKA: Reserve Smudged
DATE: A.D. 1000 to 1300 (Wood, 1987;69)
KEY DIFFERENCES: Reserve Plain is often much more highly polished compared to its precursor Alma Plain. Reserve Plain is usually smudged but not always. Fireclouds are common and often very attractive. Interiors can be so well smudged that you can see a rainbow of colors shining off of the dark black surface, others can have a silver shine.
