TYPE: Prescott Red-on-Gray

(AKA: Verde Red-on-Gray)

DATE: A.D. 1100 - 1250 (NAU Online Ceramic Manual 2001)

BOWL AND JAR DESIGN PLACEMENT: Primary designs may be found on interiors, exteriors, or both interiors and exteriors of bowls and jars.

COMMON DESIGNS: Designs are like later, finer examples of Prescott Black-on-Gray.

KEY DIFFERENCES: Red designs on a gray background.

TEMPER: Usually finer than Prescott Gray, may have a little or a lot of fine mica particles showing on the surface.
